This book was ok. I mean the book was engaging and it had a good plot but I didnt see anything unique about this book. The cover art is good and the front of the book is big which makes for easy reading. The book is 324 pages (including the reading group guide in the back which is 2 pages). Like I said this book is ok and if you just want something to read to pass sometime I would recomend this book.

My review:
I had high hopes in this book. The begining was interesting but than as I continued reading I lost interest.One good thing about it was the font is a good size and most of the chapters are short which makes it easy to read but I did not like this book. I could not conect to the characters and this book gave a very bleak view of the world (which I dont mind reading books like that sometimes) but it was just very depressing. I did not enjoy reading this book because of that and I would not recomend it .

My review:

I thought this book was ok. The author is a very good writer and I think her character development was good as well but still I just think this book was just ok. It was a different kind of romance because the plot was differnet and because it was a paranormal romance which I have read this type of romance before and I would say I like the genre. What a great read! This book was filled with lots of humour, wit, and a little chrstmas magic, and whimzy as well. I had high hopes for this book the first page was really good but then after a few pages in I lost intrest. I also thought this book was very confusing Tim the main character of the book is supposed to be sick with something but even after finishing this book I am still not sure what he is sick with. I just felt the foucus in this book was a lit bit all over the place that it went from this characters view to that characters view very quickly, maybe its just me a theres some metophorical thing in this book that I didnt understand but I did not enjoy this book and I would not recomend it.

Q. How did you come up with the title of this book?
I was sitting on the beach, contemplating titles.
Now, contrary to what you’ve seen on TV, San Francisco beaches aren’t anything like those in Los Angeles. It’s often foggy on the Northern California coast, and this day was no different, even though it was in August.
Anyway, I was sitting on the sand, huddled in my favorite sweatshirt, when a small herd of unicorns came prancing up along the surf. By “small,” I don’t mean they were miniature—I mean there were only six or seven.
They were lovely. Glistening white coats with luxurious white manes. Pinkish iridescent horns twisting out of their heads. Their hoofs had that same iridescence, and in the sun it looked like they wore glittered slippers.
One trotted up to me and nudged my foot with his muzzle. Instantly, a word popped into my head. Orthoepy.
Not knowing what that meant, I rushed back to my laptop and looked it up. The study of correct pronunciation.
As I read its definition, my email pinged, signaling a new missive. I looked. It was from my editor, saying they decided to call my book TEMPTED BY FATE.
Q. What inspired you to write?
Insanity.
No—really. Think about it.
• I choose to sit alone all day.
• I imagine fighting imaginary people.
• I have (sometimes long) conversations with those same imaginary people.
• I think of ways to sabotage the happiness of perfectly nice people.
If that’s not insanity, I don’t know what is.
My Review:
This book was ok but it was not one of my favorites. I thought I really would enjoy it because it was a paranormal romance but I didnt. I wouldnt recomend this book but it may be for someone else it just wasnt for me.

I've been a romance reader as long as I can remember (almost!). When I was about ten, I found a huge box full of romance in my grandmother's closet, read the first one (I think it was an old Barbara Cartland!) and I was hooked. I zipped through every book I could find in her house, and bribed the librarian to let me check out romances at the local public library. I always had stories of my own floating around in my mind, and they had to come out...
Q. What are you working on next?
The third book in the "Daughters of Erin" series, "Lady of Seduction," will be out in June 2011! It's the story of the youngest Blacknall sister, Caroline, who has to leave her scholarly life for a wild adventure on a stormy Irish island--with a dark, dangerous man of course.

1. I love Christmas, and it seems like the perfect season for a romance novel. Snowy sleigh rides, mistletoe, spiced wine, all very romantic. But I didn’t actually write Duchess of Sin at Christmastime, so I had to dig out my box of Christmas CDs and listen to Celtic Carols until I felt like I was in the holiday mood.
2. I can’t write without a steady supply of junk food. And just like a pregnancy, every book seems to inspire different cravings. For Duchess, a friend of mine had gone on a trip to the UK and sent me a supply of Cadbury Flake bars. I also tested out the Sticky Toffee Pudding recipe featured at the end of the book…
3. Originally I didn’t intend to give Lady Katherine her own romance, even though I’ve always been intrigued by what her back story might be. What happened to her before she was a mother and a widow? Then the hunky French artist walked in, and things just took off between them!
4. Since I like to make “character collages” to help inspire me when starting a book, I had to search for actors or models who resemble the characters in my head. Anna was easy—she was a tall, aristocratic blonde, sort of like a young Gwyneth Paltrow. But Conlan, the dark, rugged, dangerous Irish duke, was a bit harder to track down. He was sexy, but not “perfect” like a model. So I turned to my favorite historical drama, North and South, and Richard Armitage. Even though the stories have very different settings (Northern England in the 1840s and Ireland at the turn of the nineteenth century), he was a perfect inspiration.
5. I also had a hard time even coming up with Conlan’s name. When I was outlining Duchess, I scoured Celtic name websites and old myths but couldn’t find the right name. Then a friend told me her son’s name, Conlan, was a Celtic word for “hero.” It was exactly right for “my” Conlan’s character. (But the original Conlan is now only three, so it will be a while before he can read this book…)
My Review:
I liked this book! I thought it was well written and fun and the ending was very good (but dont worry I wont spoil it for you!) I think I liked this book because it was a historical romance which I have always liked that genre. I liked the cover of this book alot and I would definatly recomend it!

I usally love Foer's book but this book was just bad, I was so disappointed. I think I didnt like this book because it was non fiction and I think Foer just does better at fiction yes the book has it whimisical pages with the pictures but I think the book just falls short. This book wasnt for me but it might be for someone else but I would not recomend it.

This audio book was great! The book was very informative and you could tell that the author really knew what he was talking about. The person who read the book gave a great performance he wasnt montone but very interesting and funny at times and he even did a different voice for each person! One of the reasons I really enjoyed this was it was about history but I think anyone would enjoy this book! I really enjoyed this audiobook and I highly recomend it and I really look forward to reading the book itself!
