It will take an extraordinary turn from Hannah to bring Holly and Wyatt together so that they both may find the happiness that has eluded them.

Healing the Highlander
Today im participating in a blog tour for the book Healing the Highlander by Melissa Mayhue.
Book Info: (from the publisher Simon & Schuster)
ANDREW MACALISTER longs for a cure to free him from the excruciating pain caused by an old wound, but when he rescues a drowning woman, he has no idea how much his life is about to change. All Drew knows is that this mysterious woman is hiding secrets—and that he's never felt such a consuming desire before. Yet he cannot deny her request for help, even if it means bringing the detested English army to his Highland clan's home.
LEAH NOBLE MCQUARRIE still harbors a deep hatred of the Fae who tortured her eleven years ago, forcing her to escape back in time to the thirteenth century. A descendant of the Fae, Leah denies her heritage and her magical healing abilities. But the English army is holding her beloved adoptive grandfather captive, so Leah must seek help from the Fae—and the captivating man whose touch she craves.
Then Drew discovers Leah's secrets, and he's torn between old loyalties and trusting a woman who has the power to give him the future he's sought—but could destroy his clan forever. . . .

MACQUARRIE KEEP,
THE HIGHLANDS OF SCOTLAND
1293
A s the last emerald sparkles flickered away into the night, Leah Noble huddled close to the floor, her eyes clenched shut. Stomach churning in fear, she prayed to any and all gods who might hear her to grant that the magic would pass her by.
"Are you unharmed, lass?"
Leah jumped, startled as much by the unexpected sound of Margery MacQuarrie's voice as by the woman's gentle touch to her shoulder. She tried to nod her answer, but the terror wracked her entire body with violent tremors. Even her voice refused to cooperate when she opened her mouth, a series of pathetic whimpers all that she could manage.
"Oh, my poor lassie," Margery whispered, gathering Leah into her arms, stroking her hair and down her back as if she tended a small child in need of consoling.
It was this overwhelming kindness, following so closely on the heels of a day that had drained her both emotionally and physically, that prompted her complete undoing. Long beyond her control now, her whimpers turned to great heaving sobs as she gave herself over to the older woman's gentle ministrations.
"Och, sweetling, no," Margery cooed. "It breaks my heart to see you weep so for yer loss. Truly, lass, Robbie's leaving is no yer final connection to yer own time and yer own people. He left instructions on how yer to find the MacKiernans of Dun Ard should you ever be in need or want to try to get home again."
A crazed desire to laugh bubbled just below the surface of Leah's panic. Margery had it all so very wrong.
"No!" Leah managed to sputter out at last, fighting to gain control over her bizarre emotions. "I don't want anything to do with whatever Robbie left." She gasped for air in an attempt to stop the sobs that still jerked the breath from her. "I'm not crying because he went back to the future without me."
Margery pulled away from her, lifting one hand to brush damp strands of hair from Leah's cheeks. The older woman's face wrinkled in obvious distress. "Why, then?"
How could she possibly explain her hideous terror and the guilt that gnawed at her heart even now?
After the horrors she'd endured over the last few months, Leah had felt all hope for a normal life was lost to her. Kidnapped by the evil Nuadian Fae, abused, her blood taken daily to build their powers, she'd been demoralized by all she'd suffered. Their plans to use her to breed other half-blood Fae descendants who would in turn be abused as she had been terrified her. But when those same Fae had vowed to track her to the ends of the earth, had sworn she would never escape their control, well, that had been the last straw for her. Added to the unbearable pain she endured every time she tapped into her own Faerie powers of healing, she'd felt as if her sanity were hanging by a frayed thread.
At her darkest moment, when she'd thought her future was lost, her sister's new family had offered her a glimmer of hope. Robert had brought her here, seven hundred years into the past, depositing her in the care of his parents. Without even a hint of a Faerie in sight, Leah had felt safe and secure for the first time in what seemed like forever. It was as if, at long last, she'd found a place to call home.
And then, just as she'd thought herself free to relax, Faerie magic had reared its ugly head once more.
When that emerald sphere of magic had engulfed Robert and the woman he loved, Leah had felt as if her heart were about to burst out of her body. She'd felt the magic's pull, as if it sought to drag her along with the other two. The hair on her arms had risen and her clothing had stood out from her body as if she were being sucked into the magic to return to her own time along with them. The dragging, pulling suction had ceased only when the child, Jamie, had jumped into the circle and the three of them poofed into the future in a shower of magnificent colored sparkles.
How did she admit all that to the woman who had taken her in and even now worried over her?
She owed Margery MacQuarrie honesty even if it was the honesty of a coward. With a quivering breath, Leah wiped her eyes and tried to own up to her failings.
"Not because they left me behind, Grandma Mac, but because I was terrified the magic would take me along with them. Right back to . . . to all the things I'd thought I'd escaped. And when that poor little boy—" Her voice cracked with another sob as she acknowledged the monster her cowardice had made of her. "When the magic took Jamie instead, I was grateful, as awful as that makes me, grateful it was him and not me."
Leah allowed Margery to enfold her in her comforting embrace, once more giving herself over to the tears that had taken so long to find their release.
"My poor, gentle-hearted lassie," Margery murmured as she rocked back and forth. "You've no a need to take the lad's going onto yerself. While it may be that Jamie took yer place, you must see that he belonged with Robbie and Isabella. Just as you belong here with us."
"Do you really think so?" Leah pulled back from the older woman, searching her face for any sign that Margery simply patronized her with platitudes.
Nothing but sincerity shone in the older woman's eyes. "I do, lass. The magic of the Fae works in its own mysterious way. And though I ken you believe you've no use for that part of yerself," she held up a hand to quiet the protest Leah was about to make, "it is there, nonetheless. Just know, until the day comes you want to embrace it, we'll no ever speak to it again, if that's what you want."
Leah nodded slowly, overcome with gratitude for this caring woman who'd taken her in and treated her as if she really were her own flesh and blood. "It is. I only want to be normal."
"Well then." Margery smiled and rose to her feet, patting down her skirt as she did. "You've naught to worry over. After all, yer Leah MacQuarrie, daughter of Robert, granddaughter to Hugh and Margery. You can hardly be more normal than that, now can you?"
Leah rose hesitantly to stand, mindful of the raw burns covering half her body, the result of her having used her Faerie powers one last time to heal Jamie. The same boy who'd then gone to the future to take her place. The pain would be gone in a few days and her body would return to the way it had been. Perhaps it wasn't such a bad trade for either of them.
Jamie, with his freshly healed body, would have all the advantages the twenty-first century had to offer, plus the love Robert and Isabella obviously felt for him.
She, after a few days to recuperate, would have the rest of her life to live out as a normal person, in the safety of this time and place, without ever having to touch the Faerie magic again.

Rogue Oracle
Today I am participating in a blog tour for the book Rogue Oracle by Alayna Williams.
Book Info: (from the publisher Simon & Schuster)
THE MORE YOU KNOW ABOUT THE FUTURE, THE MORE THERE MAY BE TO FEAR.
Tara Sheridan is the best criminal profiler around—and the most unconventional. Trained as a forensic psychologist, Tara also specializes in Tarot card reading. But she doesn't need her divination skills to realize that the new assignment from her friend and sometime lover, Agent Harry Li, is a dangerous proposition in every way.
Former Cold War operatives, all linked to a top-secret operation tracking the disposal of nuclear weapons in Russia, are disappearing. There are no bodies, and no clues to their whereabouts. Harry suspects a conspiracy to sell arms to the highest bidder. The cards—and Tara's increasingly ominous dreams—suggest something darker. Even as Tara sorts through her feelings for Harry and her fractured relationship with the mysterious order known as Delphi's Daughters, a killer is growing more ruthless by the day. And a nightmare that began decades ago in Chernobyl will reach a terrifying endgame that not even Tara could have foreseen. . . .
Author Info: (from the publisher Simon & Schuster)
Alayna Williams has an MA in sociology-criminology (research interests: fear of crime and victimology) and a BA in criminology. She has worked in and around criminal justice since 1997. Although she does read Tarot cards, she's never used them in criminal profiling or to locate lost scientists. She recently took up astronomy, but for the most part her primary role in studying constellations and dark matter is to follow her amateur astronomer-husband around central Ohio toting the telescope tripod and various lenses. Like the Pythia in Dark Oracle, she's been known to belly dance. Unlike the Pythia she'd never consider herself a professional.
My Review:
I thought this book was ok. I do think it had a unique plot but it was enjoyable for me. The writing was good and the character names were creative but this book wasnt for me and I wouldnt recomend it.

The Story of Stuff
Today im participating in a blog tour for the book The Story of Stuff by Annie Leonard.
Book Info: (from the publisher Simon & Schuster)
We have a problem with Stuff. With just 5 percent of the world's population, we're consuming 30 percent of the world's resources and creating 30 percent of the world's waste. If everyone consumed at U.S. rates, we would need three to five planets!
This alarming fact drove Annie Leonard to create the Internet film sensation The Story of Stuff, which has been viewed over 10 million times by people around the world. In her sweeping, groundbreaking book of the same name, Leonard tracks the life of the Stuff we use every day—where our cotton T-shirts, laptop computers, and aluminum cans come from, how they are produced, distributed, and consumed, and where they go when we throw them out. Like Rachel Carson's Silent Spring, The Story of Stuff is a landmark book that will change the way people think—and the way they live.
Leonard's message is startlingly clear: we have too much Stuff, and too much of it is toxic. Outlining the five stages of our consumption-driven economy—from extraction through production, distribution, consumption, and disposal—she vividly illuminates its frightening repercussions. Visiting garbage dumps and factories around the world, Leonard reveals the true story behind our possessions—why it's cheaper to replace a broken TV than to fix it; how the promotion of "perceived obsolescence" encourages us to toss out everything from shoes to cell phones while they're still in perfect shape; and how factory workers in Haiti, mine workers in Congo, and everyone who lives and works within this system pay for our cheap goods with their health, safety, and quality of life. Meanwhile we, as consumers, are compromising our health and well-being, whether it's through neurotoxins in our pillows or lead leaching into our kids' food from their lunchboxes—and all this Stuff isn't even making us happier! We work hard so we can buy Stuff that we quickly throw out, and then we want new Stuff so we work harder and have no time to enjoy all our Stuff. . . .
With staggering revelations about the economy, the environment, and cultures around the world, alongside stories from her own life and work, Leonard demonstrates that the drive for a "growth at all costs" economy fuels a cycle of production, consumption, and disposal that is killing us.
It is a system in crisis, but Annie Leonard shows us that this is not the way things have to be. It's within our power to stop the environmental damage, social injustice, and health hazards caused by polluting production and excessive consumption, and Leonard shows us how. Expansive, galvanizing, and sobering yet optimistic, The Story of Stuff transforms how we think about our lives and our relationship to the planet.
Author Info: (from the publisher Simon & Schuster)
Annie Leonard is an expert in international sustainability and environmental health issues, with more than 20 years of experience investigating factories and dumps around the world. She's taking time off from her other work to write the book, but until recently she was coordinator of the Funders Workgroup for Sustainable Production and Consumption, communicating worldwide about the impact of consumerism and materialism on global economies and international health. Annie's efforts over the past two decades to raise awareness about international sustainability and environmental health issues has included work with Global Anti-Incinerator Alliance (GAIA), Health Care without Harm, Essential Information and Greenpeace International. She serves on the boards of GAIA, the International Forum for Globalization and the Environmental Health Fund.
Annie has written about international environmental issues for a range of public interest audiences and will step this up and broaden her reach with op eds and features around publication time. She's appeared on radio and TV in the U.S. and other countries many times over the past 20 years. She had extensive media training and exposure during her tenure at Greenpeace. She's testified in front of Congress, been interviewed on CNN, publicly debated a US State Department representative, and done hundreds of public presentations. In 2008, Annie was named one of Time magazine's Heroes of the Environment.
Annie did her undergraduate studies at Barnard and graduate work in city and regional planning at Cornell. She has traveled to 40 countries, including Haiti, Bangladesh, India, the Philippines, Pakistan and South Africa, in her work investigating and promoting anti-pollution issues internationally. Annie currently resides in California with her daughter.
My Review:
I thought this book was just ok. It was well written and researched but I found the book (at least for me) to be dry and boring. I dont think the ideas in the book were anything new or different and I just didnt enjoy this book. One thing I did like though were the illustrations they were very good. Overall I would not reccomend this book unless you are somebody interested in the topics it discusses.

Seduced by Destiny
Today im participating in a blog tour for the book Seduced by Destiny by Kira Morgan. Kira Morgan will also be answering a Q&A for me (and I know if any of my followers would post questions in the comments she would be happy to answer them!) So I would like to thank her for that and welcome her to my blog!
Book Info: (from the publisher Hachette Book Group)
All her life, Josselin Ancrum has been trained for combat, hoping to exact vengeance for her heroic mother, who was killed fighting the English. When asked to spy for the Scottish Queen, Jossy joyfully accepts. But when a handsome stranger rescues her from sudden danger, his charm distracts her from her mission.
On the surface, Drew MacAdam may appear to be nothing more than a carefree champion, but his heart harbors a dark secret: This Highland hero is actually a skilled English soldier with a hatred for war and for the Scottish. Yet from the moment he meets the feisty Jossy, he's captured by her fiercely loyal heart. He's determined the honey-haired lass will be his ultimate prize - until the tragedy of their entwined legacies is revealed. Are these star-crossed lovers to be divided by their pasts? Or will they be...seduced by destiny?
Q&A with Kira Morgan
1. Why did you pick Scotland as your setting?
My husband is a Campbell, so I guess I’m drawn to all things Scottish! We honeymooned in Scotland and were amazed by the breathtaking scenery and the warm, welcoming people. At the time of my story, the 16th century, it took a special breed to survive in a rugged country with harsh weather and hostile soil, especially with the English constantly storming the borders. Since I’m fond of tough, independent, stubborn characters, Scotland is the perfect setting for Drew and Josselin in SEDUCED BY DESTINY.
2. Who inspired you to write?
I started writing at a very early age--I still have books of poetry from second grade! I credit my parents and teachers for encouraging me to continue writing. As far as trying to get a book published, I have to thank my best friend in high school, who thought we should write a historical novel together. It turned out that, although she loves history, she hates writing, so I ended up writing the book by myself. I did, however, name the main character after her!
3. What are you working on next?
I’m currently finishing up a historical romance loosely based on “The Canterbury Tales,” but set in 14th century Scotland. The heroine is fleeing an abusive bridegroom, the hero is in exile for a crime he didn’t commit, and they meet on an adventurous pilgrimage to St. Andrews.
1. Who is your favorite romance author and why?
I like a lot of the newer authors—both historical and contemporary. But when I think of favorites, I tend to remember those who inspired me when I first started writing. My three biggest influences would be Jude Deveraux, Julie Garwood, and Penelope Williamson.
2. What other genre of books besides romance would you consider writing?
I’ve already written some children’s pieces and may be coming out with a poetry/picture book later this year. But I also have aspirations of writing a young adult paranormal series, a couple of non-fiction books, and even the libretto for a musical!
Thanks for inviting me to stop by! I love to hear from readers and am happy to answer questions. You can friend me on www.facebook.com/kiramorganauthor, follow me at www.twitter.com/kira_morgan, and enter a sweepstakes to win the silver thimble that Drew gives Jossy by signing up at my website at www.glynnis.net/kiramorgan.

Highland Master
Today im participating in a blog tour for the book Highland Master by Amanda Scott. Amanda Scott also answered a Q&A for me so I would like to thank her for that and welcome her to my blog!
Book Info: (from Hachette book group)
When eighteen-year-old Lady Catriona Mackintosh discovers a wounded man in the forest near her Highland home, little does she know that he has sworn a sacred oath to kill her father and other members of the powerful Highland confederation known as Clan Chattan. Nor does she realize that she has met her soul mate. Independent, competent, intelligent, fiercely proud of her heritage, determined always to live near her own family, and known to her family as the "wee wildcat" because of her quick temper, Catriona is the daughter of a Highland chieftain and granddaughter of the even more powerful Chief (or Captain) of Clan Chattan. But her life changes forever when she persuades Sir Finlagh Cameron to return with her to her home to recover from his wounds.
Sir Finlagh "Fin" Cameron is on a mission for the heir to Scotland's throne, who has sent him to the Highlands to persuade the Chief of Clan Chattan to arrange a secret meeting for him with two other great lords (the Lord of the Isles and the Lord of the North). Until Fin meets Catriona, however, he has no idea that her father was the Clan Chattan war leader who led them in the battle that wiped out many of Clan Cameron's best warriors, including Fin's own father. The sole survivor of that battle, Fin accepted a bequest of vengeance from his dying father, providing him with a dilemma to face as he begins to fall in love with Catriona. He is not the only one enticed by her charms, either. There are two other contenders, one of whom is his own master, the heir to Scotland's throne. With royal mischief afoot, if Catriona and Fin are ever to find happiness, they must first avoid disaster that could change Scotland's history, and find ways to be open and honest with each other.
Q&A
Whos your favorite romance author and why? Author Info: (from the publisher Hachette Book Group)
Amanda Scott, best-selling author and winner of the Romance Writers of America's RITA/Golden Medallion and The Romantic Times' awards for Best Regency Author and Best Sensual Regency, began writing on a dare from her husband. She has sold every manuscript she has written. More than twenty-five of her books are set in the English Regency period (1810-1820), others are set in fifteenth-century England and sixteenth-and eighteenth-century Scotland. Three are contemporary romances. Amanda lives with her husband and son in northern California.
My review:
I thought this was a very good historical romance novel. I liked the characters and the plot was very enjoyable. The only thing I didnt like about this book was its cover. Other than that this was a good book and I would highly recomend it!
I would like to thank Anna from Hachette for letting me participate in this blog tour!
I don’t have a favorite romance author these days for a couple of reasons. My all-time favorites are Jan Westcott and Dorothy Dunnett, who both wrote Scottish tales. Dunnett doesn’t really count as Romance, but Westcott certainly does. Her books, Border Lord and The Hepburn, introduced me to Scotland’s history and made me pay more attention to my grandfather’s tales of our family centuries ago in Scotland and eventually led to my own career and writing the 55 books that have been published to date, including the most recent one, HIGHLAND MASTER, which takes place in the early fifteenth century. The hero of HIGHLAND MASTER, Sir Finlagh “Fin of the Battles” Cameron, is a warrior facing a dilemma, in that he has inadvertently sworn to two mutually exclusive but nonetheless sacred oaths. One is to wreak vengeance (i.e. kill) the war leader of a rival clan. The heroine, Lady Catriona Mackintosh, is the war leader’s daughter. Think Romeo and Juliet on steroids. But, getting back to other romance writers, I enjoyed books by Patricia Wentworth and others who mixed romance with mystery. However, the primary reason that I don’t have a more contemporary favorite in the Romance genre is that just as lawyers rarely read law books or doctors medical books for pleasure, I rarely read the sort of books that I write when I want to relax. I’m too inclined to edit them, and I don’t want to be thinking that way when I’m trying to get away from work. I read thrillers of all sorts though, political, legal, medical…you name it. Favorite authors are Lee Child, Robert Crais, Daniel Silva, Tess Gerritson, and many others.
What other genres of books besides romance whould you consider writting?
I have three mystery/thrillers that I’ve played with over time, but when you’re writing two historicals a year and trying to keep up with your private life, the leftover time doesn’t amount to much. Maybe some day I’ll get them in shape to submit to someone. Until then, I’m really content to do what I’m doing.

The Secret Lives of Dresses
The Secret Lives of Dresses
by Erin McKean
I enjoyed this book! It was a nice and unique read. I really liked the main character of Dora and I cared about what happened to her in the book. I only wish that I could of read about the character of Mimi in the present time in the book instead of having to listen to Dora taking about her (and yes we do meet her but shes in a coma so there really is no action from her). I loved alot of aspects in this book but I expectly like learning about all of the dresses secret lives that Dora learns about in Mimi's store. This book was good and I recomend it!
I would like to thank Brad Parsons for letting me read and review this book!

Can You Survive The Zombie Apocalyse?
Today I am participating in a blog tour for the book Can You Survive The Zombie Apocalypse? by Max Brallier.
Book Info: (from the publisher Simon & Schuster)
Inside these pages lies unspeakable horror. Bloodsplattering, brain-impaling, flesh-devouring horror. You've probably read your fair share of zombie stories. But this time it's different. No longer can you sit idle as a bunch of fools make all the wrong moves. All hell is about to break loose—and YOU have a say in humanity's survival.
You have choices to make.
Moral dilemmas.
Strategic decisions.
Weapons. Vehicles.
Will you be a hero?
Or will you cover your own ass at all costs?
Can you withstand the coming hours, days, weeks, and months? Or will you die amidst the chaos and violence of a zombie uprising?
Or, worst of all, will you become one of them?

My Review:
I loved this book I thought it was so much fun! The beauty of this book is its/or can be a different story everytime you read it! I loved the pictures and illustations( because they were drawn in a different style) in this book and the cover as well! This book reminded me alot of those gossebump books that you read when you were a kid where you could chose your own ending and what happened to you in some of those books as well. I would definatly reccomend this book it is so much fun and I also hope that the author will write more books in this format!

Amaryllis in Blueberry
Today I am participating in a blog tour for the book Amaryllis in Blueberry by Christina Meldrum.
Book Info: (from the publisher Simon & Schuster)
In the stirring tradition of The Secret Life of Bees and The Poisonwood Bible, Amaryllis in Blueberry explores the complexity of human relationships set against an unforgettable backdrop. Told through the haunting voices of Dick and Seena Slepy and their four daughters, Christina Meldrum's soulful novel weaves together the past and the present of a family harmed—and healed—by buried secrets.
"Maybe, unlike hope, truth couldn't be contained in a jar. . . ."
Meet the Slepys: Dick, the stern doctor, the naÏve husband, a man devoted to both facts and faith; Seena, the storyteller, the restless wife, a mother of four, a lover of myth. And their children, the Marys: Mary Grace, the devastating beauty; Mary Tessa, the insistent inquisitor; Mary Catherine, the saintly, lost soul; and finally, Amaryllis, Seena's unspoken favorite, born with the mystifying ability to sense the future, touch the past, and distinguish the truth tellers from the most convincing liar of all.
When Dick insists his family move from Michigan to the unfamiliar world of Africa for missionary work, he can't possibly foresee how this new land and its people will entrance and change his daughters—and himself—forever.
Nor can he predict how Africa will spur his wife Seena toward an old but unforgotten obsession. In fact, Seena may be falling into a trance of her own. . . .
Author Info: (from The Publisher Simon & Schuster)
Christina Meldrum received her Bachelor of Arts in religious studies and political science from the University of Michigan. After working in grassroots development in Africa, she earned her Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School. She has worked for the International Commission of Jurists in Geneva, Switzerland, and as a litigator at the law firm of Shearman & Sterling. She currently lives in the San Francisco Bay Area with her family and is on the advisory board of Women of the World Investments.
My Review:
I thought this book was very beautifully written. I am going to say this book was just ok for me however, it wasnt one of my favorites but it wasnt horrible. I think if I ever got the oppurtunity I would read another book by this author. I really liked the cover of this book as well. I would recomend this book!

Book Info: (from the publisher Simon & Schuster)
An award-winning actress. A soldier's wife. A cancer survivor. A college student. What these women—what all of us—have in common is a need for love: to give it, to receive it, to express its many aspects. Now Andrea Buchanan, who Cosmopolitan called the "girl power guru," follows her first collection, Note to Self, with a new compilation of thought-provoking, illuminating, often poignant essays on love written by some of America's most fascinating and vibrant women.
Join author and cancer survivor Kelly Corrigan, describing why her most romantic fantasy now involves sitting on the sofa opening the mail; journalist Giselle Fernandez, sharing why, even though the journey can sometimes end painfully, an adventure in love should never be passed up; Afghanistan war widow Marie Tillman on learning to open her heart again after the devastating loss of her husband, Pat; celebrity stylist Tameka Raymond on the challenges of marrying the rap star Usher in the glare of the public eye; and college student Jaclyn Katz on how her "perfect" traditional family fell apart, and her mother's brother and his partner gave her back the stability that could have been lost forever. These courageous women have portrayed their own innermost emotions and laid bare their own experiences for readers to learn from, laugh at, and lean on.
My Review:
I thought this book was very good. Some stories I enjoyed more than others but I enjoyed how this book would be heatwarming, funny, and could make you cry all at the same time. This book is also very engaging for a non-fiction book and I would recomend it highly!
