My review:

I thought this was an enjoyable paranornal rommance. I liked the characters alot in this book, they were well written and I cared what happened to them. I also thought their names were very creative and enjoyed reading them. I thought the plot of this book was very fresh and creative as well. I have enjoyed many of the books this author has written and it is hard for me to chose a favorite but this one would be up there on my list. I would recommend this book!

Once upon a Time...I was born in New York City and grew up on Long Island where I had an interesting and creative childhood. Once in college, I studied Psychology and Philosophy, but since "thinking" didn't translate into earning money or job security, I worked at a variety of different and unrelated jobs both in New York City and on Long Island.
​In order to keep me sane through all the craziness of life, I spent my spare time writing. Anything and everything. The culmination of this was a fantasy - The City of Light - which has recently been reissued as an ebook.

My review:
This book was ok. It was a very long read and for me some parts dragged. I do think the writting and plot were very good overall. I think though my problem here is that I couldnt connect to the main character and since she is the focus of the book thats what made me somewhat detached form the book. I would not reccomend this book.

Sad Desk Salad

I thought the book was good and witty overall and I couldnt put it down at times because I wanted to find out what happened next and I reccomend it.

My review:
So I am going to say this review will be a little biased because I love Louisa May Alcott! Little Women is one of my favorite books! (I also like Alcotts other works as well and I have been to Orchard House as well)! I thought this book was well written, interesting, and a worthwhile read! I learned so much about the author that I didnt know and the information in this book was told in an interesting way (it wasnt boring to read). I really liked the cover of the book to it is very nice. I think this book is also really cool in the fact that it is a dual biography of Louisa and her mother.  For any Louisa May Alcott fan this book is a must read! I would highly recommend this book it is a good and worthwhile read!

My review:
This was a good read. I really like the relationships that were developed in this book, the characters were complex not just one dimentional which I enjoyed too.I couldnt pick a favorite character however.  I thought the book was well written.The cover of the book could have been more interesting I think, but it was ok overall. I would reccomend this book. I think its a good and worthwhile read.

My review:
I thought this was a good read overall. The book had an interesting premise and complex characters that made it a worthwhile read. It was also a very well written book. I was also impressed with this book being that it was the authors frist novel. I also thought that it was beautifully written. While I did think the book was good it was not one of my favorites. I would recomend it still because its a worthwhile read as I said before.

A:  Actually, I didn’t start out wanting to write a series. I started out wanting to write a story about a woman who goes in search of her long-lost twin sister. As fate would have it, I started her search in a little town in west Texas that people ended up loving :o)


My review:
So this has been my favorite out of this authors whole Texas series. The characters were very fun and likeable. The book also had a very likeable and enjoyable plot. I would reccomend this book. It was well written and a nice change of pace for me plot wise because it had a setting you dont usally see anymore. I think lots of people will enjoy this contempary romance.

My Review:

I am glad I got to listen to this audio book because I thought this was a very interesting audio book to listen too. Being a lover of history Abe Lincoln is always one of my favorite subjects to study, so this audio book did not dissapoint overall. I thought the perspective of this book that this author uses was interesting and unique, looking at Lincoln through his rivals. My only qualm with this audio book is that it was abridged.

The narration for me was ok, it was not monotone but only somewhat animated. I do not really think an audio book like this should be too animated but I do like to have at least some liveliness in audio book readings because if there is not then for me it feels like it drags a bit. Although like I said overall on this audio book I will say the narration was ok it was not great but it was not horrible and it was better than other narrations I have listened to in this genre.

It was a very factual book and I enjoyed listening to it. This book would be a nice listen for any history buff and I would recomend it.

My review:
I thought this book was a charming and enjoyable romance, full of wit, enjoyable plot, and characters. I liked the clever title of this novel and it is a nice read for the holidays. This book is a romance novel but it surprised me a bit because some of the story felt a little like something out of Dickens (whom I love), which made the plot even more enjoyable for me. I would highly reccomend this fun, funny and enjoyable romance novel.

Hunk for the Holidays by Katie Lane

My review:
This was a very nice romance novel to read for the Holidays. I enjoyed it very much, It wasnt too steamy but it wasnt too sappy sweet either which makes it just right. The characters were all good I thought and I loved the ending. I think this is a perfect read for the holidays (or anytime of year) . It was a fun read and I would highly reccomend this contempary romance novel.

My review:

So I really enjoy all the Last Chance books. I think its a fun and cute idea for a series. I enjoyed this Christmas Story and thought it was lovely. Its a perfert holiday treat for everyone who reads it. I liked all the characters of course and I really thought some of the names that this author has created for some of her characters in this series are cool and creative. The writting is good and I think many people will enjoy this heart warming novel. I would highly reccomend it.

My review:
So this was my favorite Lord of Deleverance book in the series. I love the story/plot, characters, and the relationship between the two main characters. This was a very enjoyable read. I also thought the premise for this whole series was fresh and unique which is anthor thing I like about Lords of Deliverance. I would highly reccomend this book, its a great supernatual/paranormal romance.

My review:
I do think this author is very good and I have enjoyed some other works I have read by this author but The Lairds Choice really was just ok for me I found myself not being connected or engage with this novel. Im not say it was bad the plot was ok but not my favorite. I would reccomend this book because there are people who I think would really like this it just wasnt for me.

My Review:
This was yet again another historical romance novel by this author that I enjoyed. I did like some of the previous books that I have read of hers better but this one has merrit. Its well written, with an enjoyable story and characters. I would reccomend this for any historical romance fan!

I started creating books at the age of five, or so my mother tells me. And she has the proof--a neatly penciled story, the pages lavishly illustrated with full color crayon drawings of horses and bound with staples--to back up her claim. I have since moved on from Westerns to writing about Regency England, a time and place that has captured my imagination ever since I opened the covers of Jane Austen's "Pride and Prejudice."

I have a BA and an MFA in Graphic Design from Yale University and now work as the Creative Director of a lifestyle sporting magazine, a job which lets me combine my love of the printed word with my love of art. My review: 

I enjoyed this romance novel overall. I really liked that  it was a historical romance (which is my favorite kind because I love history). The characters in this novel were likeable for the most part and I cared what happened to them. This historical romance novel was also well written and this book was an easy read. The plot was good and easy to follow. I would recommend this historical romance highly it is a very enjoyable read.

What made you want to write Barefoot in the Rain? 

First of all, thanks for inviting me today! So good to be here.  Barefoot in the Rain was, in fact, originally conceived as the first book in the Barefoot Bay series.  This is the book I wanted to write when I initially decided I’d like to take a break from romantic suspense and explore deeper, even darker emotions in a more character-driven story.  The idea of having to “forgive the unforgiveable” in order to find love really appealed to me.  But when I sketched out the whole Barefoot Bay series into four books, something in my gut told me this should be the second book.  Not sure why -- maybe because it does tackle heavier issues than the first book. 

If you could not write romance novels what genre would you write and why? 

I also write young adult novels and enjoy every minute of living in a teenager’s head.  No, really, I do!  I read YA voraciously, so that is definitely one of my favorite genres of fiction.  I also love to read biographies because I’m fascinated by people who overcome monumental odds to find success and peace in their lives.  I’m interested in anything spiritual, also, so that kind of non-fiction could be residing in me.  All I know is that I will write a hundred books in my lifetime, and I’m only about 1/3 of the way there!

What are you working on next? 

I just finished Barefoot in the Sun, the third book in the Barefoot Bay series, for release next spring. Right now, I’m starting Barefoot by the Sea, book four, scheduled for release in one year.  I’m enjoying being immersed in the community of Barefoot Bay and the challenge of giving each of the main characters a unique story and once-in-a-lifetime romance!

My review: 

I enjoy this romance novel very much! I do have to say that I was surprised by this because it not my usual favorite romance genre.  This story was so sweet with many likeable characters. It was a very sweet and enjoyable story. It was well written which a good and relateable plot and characters. I have read other romance novels by this author but I have to say this one was my favorite and I hope to read the rest of the books in the Barefoot Bay series! I would recommend this book highly its a nice and enjoyable read.

My review:

What a great read this was! I enjoyed it alot! First let me say that this book was beautifully written. I loved the characters. You can really feel for them in this book but this is one of those books where you can also picture in your mind what is going on in the book very easily because the author writes that vividly. I also very much enjoyed the plot of this novel, it was fresh and unique. I also really liked the cover of this book as well. I thought it was very colorful and I think it goes with the atomosphere of the book quite well. I would recommend this book highly its a fresh and unique read. It is also a worthwhile read and it is rare that you find books that are written this eloquently.

My mother was the youngest of 15 children and when I was a small girl I used to visit her hometown, Halliday, in the western part of N.D. I had two bachelor farmer uncles who used to ride horseback to the white Lutheran church on Sundays! There was an Indian reservation nearby and I remember many stories surrounding the the Native Americans. The stories were mixed - involving their customs, the pow-wows, the drinking and bar fights! Later one of these uncles lived with a Native American woman who cared for him until he died. The inspiration for my writing comes from these experiences and the unending stories of childhood!

My review: 

Overall I did enjoy reading this book. The characters were really great (even though I liked some more than others) and they were well written and well developed you could really feel for them (you cared what happened to them). Which is probably why I have mixed feelings about the ending and how the book turned out. It was a book that was happy and sad at the same time (in a good way) which its rare to find books like that in this day and age. Its a very nice story that tugs at your emotions at times. It was an easy read as well, nicely formatted and the print was a nice size as well. I would recommend this book highly it would appeal to many different kinds of readers.

My review: 
I thought this book was a charming historical romance! The first reason why I enjoyed this was that it was a historical romance (which is my favorite kind) (but I may be biased because I love history). I really enjoyed the writing styles and characters in this novel. The plot was good and well written and I found myself rooting for these characters and wishing for a good ending and I was not disappointed! I have read other romances by this author and I would say this one is just as good and I am a fan. I would recommend this book!

Nolichuck! T.J.'s Wild frontier adventure

Today I will be reviewing the book Nolichuck! T.J.'s Wild Frontier adventure. I also have an inteview with the author on here so I would like to thank him for that and welcome him to my blog!

Author Interview:

How do you come up with the title of your book?

NOLICHUCK is a common abbreviation of the Nolichucky River which is a major stream flowing out of the the Blue Ridge Mountains of western North Carolina and into east Tennessee. The river is 115 miles long, and back then, when that part of the state was covered in forests, the river was still unsullied and beautiful. Much of the action when the hero goes back in time takes place in the same region as the Nolichucky.

Why did you chose 1802 as the time period for the main character to travel back to?

In all of my Adventure (Green Book Series) novels, my intent is to cover periods in history that are less familiar, less written about than the famous events and times of our nation's past such as the Revolutionary War, Civil War, Wild West, etc. All of the Adventure books with be a combination of historical fiction and contemporary fiction, where the hero (and perhaps a friend or two) goes back in time, but also returns the present having to face more adventures and predicaments before the story ends. As a kid who grew up watching Davy Crockett on the original Walt Disney World TV series, I often wondered what it was like for Davy growing up as a teenager in the frontier Tennessee, so NOLICHUCK deals with that era.

What are you working on next?

REDS! TJ's Wacky War Adventure is the next book in the Green Book Series. TJ and his girlfriend get hurled back in the past to separate escapades during the War of 1812, with the Green Book shuttling them successively forward in time, culminating with them finally reconnecting during the Battle of New Orleans. And once they return the present, they both face at school and home unresolved situations filled with mystery, suspense, and challenges.  

 

My review:

I really loved reading this book it was such a fun book! I may be biased because im a history lover but I think this was a great book, expecially for young adults who maybe learning about this time period in school, or who want to know more about this time period. I also am a YA fan which is another reason I liked reading this book. I think T.J. was a very relatable and likeable character and was well written too!

I think the book was well written and I enjoyed this authors writting style. I am so excited that this book is part of a series because I cant wait to read the next one! The plot of this book was fresh and unique and I really enjoyed reading it. I would highly reccomend this book.

I have mixed feelings about this audio book. I am a cat lover (and dog lover too) so I love anything to do with cats but some of these stories on this audio book I really didnt like and thought were very boring. Some stories or snipets I did like like the Purrfect candidate for president as well as a few others that made me laugh (I think I really liked those because I am someone who owes 2 cats so I understand). My cats actually listened with me to this (or they were in the room when I listened to this). So it is an audio book you can listen to with your whole family.  

The narration of this audio book was ok at best. I think the narrator could have been more animated and not so monotoned. I each of the stories or snippets though there were people other than the narrator so some of them had good animated voices and made their part of the audio book enjoyable to listen to but some people not so much.

I would recommend this audio book because some of the stories on it are cute and worth a listen. I also recommend it because I know there are lots of cat lovers out there who will want to listen to this. Oh also I recommend you listen to this audio book with your cat it makes it all the more fun!

My review:
This audio book was a good one, it was not perfect however but I really enjoyed listening to it. First I have to say what a unique idea for a book! I was so excited to listen to this one! The writing style is good and his characters are ok. I liked the idea that Budo was the narrator of this story but at times I did get annoyed with Budo. I did care what happened to him in the story so I liked him overall.

Max was also a character I liked in the story and I cared what happened to him as well. I also liked the different imaginary friends that you meet in this audio book/novel. There were a few characters/scences that Im not sure why they were in there but other then that everything is fine in plot.

The narration of this book was good, not boring but not over the top either. I actually really enjoyed this narrator. He was animated and his tone was good, I wanted to listen to this narration.  While listening to this audio book I could picture what was going on in my head (which you know this is a good audio book when you can do that).

I would highly recommend this audio book I think its a refreshing and enjoyable to listen to and the characters are memorable as well. The ending is also very good. It is an audio book that I think will appeal to many readers (but word of caution: it is not a kids or YA book).

My review:
Overall I would have to say I really liked this audio book!

The Crossroads:
I really enjoyed this story, it was funny, fun, and clever. I was really interested in what happened to the characters in this, I was rooting for Eben hes a likable guy. I also really liked the sound effects in this story and how each character had a different voice/personallity. The narration of this story was also very good but I think what I liked most about this story was that it was unique and creative which is really quite refreshing.  This story was great I really loved it!

Borrowed Glory:
Oh what a touching story this was! I loved it so much. The characters again were great and this story was really enjoyable but was also really sad, a 20th century fairy tale which has you rooting for a different outcome at the end but also a surprising ending. Narration/effects: I feel the same way with this one as I did with The Crossroads. I also feel like this story has very likeable characters which I cared about what happened to them in the end. This story to I also thought was very creative and refreshing. I loved this one as well!

The Devil's Rescue
This is the only story on this audio book that I did not like. I thought it was boring and I couldnt connect to it. The narration/effects, I think were as good as the other two but the story wasnt as good.

Overall I would reccomend this audio book The Crossroads and Borrowed Glory are great stories that everybody should hear! (Also you get 3 stories for the price of one audio book!)

My review:
I thought this audio movie was ok but I liked the other one that I reviewed of this author better. This was still good its just I prefered the other one better.

I still liked the narration in this and how it was a multicast narration where all of the characters had their own voice and personality. The sound affects were very good too, nothing was out of place, uncalled for or used way too much. I again also really liked the soundtrack (music) on this audio movie.

The plot of this audio movie was well written and thoughout but it just wasnt one of my favorites. The characters were also well developed.

I would reccomend this audio movie even though it wasnt one of my favorites because I know that some people are fans of this kind of genre so they would really enjoy this audio movie.

My review:
So I was excited to try out my frist "Audio Movie" and the performance did not dissapoint! While the story/plot itself I couldnt really conect to I still enjoyed listening to this Audio Movie. Even though I couldnt really connect to the story from what I heard this book was well written, Scdiere is a really good author.

I liked how each character had his or her own personality which made the narration enjoyable. This also made it hard to pick a favorite charactor. The sound effects were also good and well placed and well used. I also think that the soundtrack really enhanced the whole production as well and I loved it!

I would reccomend this Audio Movie to people who like this genre and and to people who like listening to these types of audio books.

My Review:
This was a fun and enjoyable read (however I might be biased since fantasy is one of my favorite genres). I love how it reminds me or all my favs like Alice in Wonderland and Stargate and others fantasy things like that.

The characters in this book were all great and the writting style was great in this book as well.  I also loved the cover and the ending of this book was great as well. The book wasnt perfect however but it shows alot of promise and I cant wait to see what comes next! This is a great YA that would be excellent for many ages of readers. I would recomend this book.
