About the author:

K.M. Fawcett was a born romantic. At six years old, she would beg her parents to take her a restaurant with "soft music and candles" where she could drink Shirley Temples and twirl on the dance floor. As she grew, her desire to be whisked into a romantic adventure by a knight in shining armor also grew to the point of annoying her friends and family. When she received A Knight In Shining Armor (a novel by Jude Deveraux) on her eighteenth birthday, she fell head over heals in love...with the romance genre. K.M. now writes paranormal romances and enjoys stories filled with adventure and strong, kick butt heroes and heroines. She is a member of the Romance Writers of America and the Liberty States Fiction Writers. K.M. is a Nidan (2nd degree black belt) in Isshinryu Karate and co-owns and operates the Tenchi (Heaven and Earth) Isshinryu Karate Dojo with her husband in Lebanon, NJ. She is also a certified women's self-defense instructor with the FLAG (Fight Like a Girl) Program. When not working on her novels, blogging about martial arts and writing action, or working out at the dojo, she is home with her children.

Five Fun Facts About The Survival Race Series by K.M. Fawcett

1) While watching the rescue of mistreated horses on an episode of Animal Cops, K.M. wondered how people would feel if they were penned up and abused. What if humans were the pets, and someone--aliens perhaps--bred us and gambled on us for entertainment? The idea for the Survival Race series was born.

2) American and Scottish folklore was used to create the alien rulers in the Survival Race. The Hyboreans are a cross between Sasquatch and Am Fear Liath Mor (The Great Grey Man).

3) K.M. finds writing fight scenes much easier than writing love scenes.

4) The main characters in the Survival Race were created using the “Adam and Eve” approach. The hero was created first and then the perfect heroine was made just for him.

5) Imagined speech (the voice you hear inside your head when you read) or synthetic telepathy, which the science team inFearless used for their mind control device, is an ongoing area of research. The U.S. Department of Defense has awarded millions of dollars in grants to universities to study Synthetic Telepathy. The goal is to develop applications for military and commercial use.
